Brassieres

Women’s breasts have always been appreciated by the male part of the globe. The primary functions of women’s breasts are generally known. These are: breastfeeding and sexual role. Regardless of which one you think is most important, breasts need appropriate care and attention. That is why, lingerie industry pays much attention to the development and improvement of brassieres – clothing covering and supporting women’s breasts. The history of bras dates back to the Minoan civilization era (14th century BC), where athletic women were wearing bikini-like garments. Later, from the sixteenth century, women’s undergarment was dominated by the corsets. Then, the corsets were available only to wealthy women. After watching historical movies, we all know how they looked like and difficult it was to put them on. Thus, we can only imagine how uncomfortable they were and how restraint a woman must have felt. Luckily, by the early twentieth century, garments resembling today’s bras had emerged. Consequently, at the beginning of the twenty-first century, bras became a part of huge lingerie industry. Nowadays, brassieres are not only functional, but also fashionable.
Today’s bras are multifunctional. They support breasts, assure women’s comfort, but also can minimize or enlarge breasts. On the market there are hundreds of types of bras. The designs are so different that the choice is made difficult. You can choose between sizes, colours, fabrics and styles. The most common types of brassieres are: push-up, strapless, sports bra, wireless, invisible, front-fastening, etc. Depending on what kind of dress you want to wear, you can choose an appropriate bra. Your breasts may look bigger or smaller, naturally or with your nipples hidden. Comforting I the idea that the brassiere industry is still progressing and it is most probable that in few year time our bras will have functions which today are unbelievable.
